This is an uncommonly fine album of trombone mastery, great playing here meets great tunes, mostly written by Bargeron. Track two, Holly's Song is a beautiful composition. It's melody is strong and lyrical, and builds to a dramatic finale. The playing does not get any better than on this album. Dave Bargeron is in the elite eschelon of trombone players and Kenwood Denard is a compelling drummer.
