I've used this book for several projects, and they've all turned out very well. Ms. Boyles' designs are classed as beginner, intermediate, and advanced, so it's easy to pick a design that will work for your level of skill. The designs are timeless, beautiful, and rewarding. The color combinations are electric. I've actually bought three copies of this book. The first I loaned to a friend; she lost it and bought me a used copy. The used copy developed mildew (something I had never considered when buying used) so I'm just now buying a third copy because this book is too good to be without.

It is always better to be taught something by someone who has mastered the art. Not someone who took it up a few months ago and now styles themselves an expert or someone who wrote some book under contract to a publisher using cobbled together instructions but from someone who "knows of what they speak".
I learned Bargello using these Margaret Boyles books, and learned it well. The instructions and graphs are clear and to the point. The pictures are straight forward and her color use is excellent. I find I rarely want to duplicate anyone else's color combinations however I find myself referring to Margaret Boyles books when I need color inspiration or just a color kick in the pants.
Margaret Boyles books are all out of print now and can be tricky to find. Do not give up. You will not regret it.

I am writing a lot of these reviews. As a buyer of these out-of-print books, I always wish there was more information about them available. So, I am doing this in hopes others will too and there will more of these reviews out here.
