Highly recommend this book for Bargello!,
By
This review is from: Bargello Quilts (Paperback)
I used this book for the first Bargello quilt I ever made because I was facinated by the quilt on the cover. I read the instruction pages a number of times before I began. It was not difficult to follow the cutting and layout plans. Of course the first one I made WAS the one on the cover. It was a gift for my son's drapery shop and he has had many positive comments and an offer to buy it. I have made two more quilts/wall hangings from this book and have another in mind. I just wish there were specific instructions for some of the pictures. I highly recommend this book!

best bargello,
This review is from: Bargello Quilts (Paperback)
If you're looking to get into bargello quilting, this book by far has the best ideas of any other bargello book I've seen. For the mathmatically inclined, there are much more complex ideas and designs in this book to inspire your creation. For those looking for a quick quilt, bargello strip quilting is the fastest way to make a quilt that looks more complex than it really is!

Bargello Quilts tough to understand but great pictures!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bargello Quilts (Paperback)
This book shows a number of beautiful quilts that are creative and relatively easy to do once you figure out the instructions. The definitions section is the only reason I could finally understand how to set up the color-run strips and cut them. The design chart info is straight forward but not easily translatable to patterns until Ms. Edie's photographs seen. Her photographs of the quilts are the most useful component of this book for explaining the instructions. The quilts are the most unusual and elegant pieces of textile art I have seen in a long time! A terrific book for ideas once you get through the instructions. I am looking forward to her second volume which is out but I haven't seen yet.

DO-ABLE Bargello Quilts,
By
This review is from: Bargello Quilts (Paperback)
Marge Edie takes the mystery out of Bargello Quilts. I have admired Bargello Quilts for years, but have steered clear beacause of the complexity of the look of them. When a friend stated an interest, I pursued the art. I started out by going through my local library...then when I found Marge Edie's book, I KNEW it was the one for me! I ordered my own copy immediately!
I have my strips all cut for the set of Bargello placemats and am anxious to get them together....then on to bigger!!! Directions are clear and precise...she walks you through every step...from choosing fabrics to the binding...with directions and pictures. GREAT BOOK!

Enjoyable,

I found the quilts very inspiring but the directions difficult to follow. Once I finally figured out the strips and the circle involved, it was fairly easy. I'm a novice quilter and really need to rely on the design wall and explicit instructoins. I'm excited about the final product. It is fun to quilt as you sew the project together -- then you can add additional stitching to enhance the design. Worth the price.

I am excited to try one of these quilts. This book is an excellent addition to a quilter's library and the technique is so very different.

I love this book, however it's not for the first timer. I've sewn and quilted all my life and it was a bit hard for me to understand at first, but once I got it, that was all it took. I've made 2 so far.
