Barjack is a funny offbeat western.,
This review is from: Barjack (Mass Market Paperback)
Barjack is something else. Barjack is the name of a scrappy sheriff. He is cocky, rude and arrogant. At the same time he is likable. This book has alot of twists and turns, and you never know what is going to happen next. Just when you think you know what the heck is going on, it takes you somewhere else. Barjack is an offbeat western, that should appeal to anyone, not just western fans. There are some hilarious parts, that had me laughing out loud. Robert Conley really changed his writing style on this one, and it worked.

A wonderful summer read. Mr. Conley writes the way people actually think and speak. His characters and situations are true to the period. I highly recommend this book.

"A NOTHING",
By Mac Blair "Mac Blair" (Huntingdon, TN USA) - See all my reviews

This reason I rated this with one star is because there is nothing lower, if there had been I would have used it. "Barjack" is a sorry excuse for a western. If I had wanted a joke book I would have bought one. I nealy quit on the first page because of the language and I wish I had. There is really no story, nothing that relates to what a good western is all about. If you want to read a western do not read this one.
