My frisky, intelligent dog was turned into a neurotic, whimpering animal within an hour of this product being turned on. She went to the farthest corner of the house and crawled into the corner to escape it's possible continuous sound.
How does a human know if it ever turns off? You can't hear it.
With Bark Off on, my dog would not even enter the house or be tempted with treats. This is a poor quality product. Money can't replace the damage this Bark Off has done to my pet. It was only turned on (without my knowledge) for a few evening hours. I had no idea what had traumatized my dog so. If you need a product like this, don't be cheap. Spend a few dollars and get one that at least lights up when on so YOU know it is working. By all means observe your dogs behavior and avoid tormenting them. This Bark Off item is not for pet lovers.

By the way, she never barks anymore.

I bought this product after seeing favorable reviews on the web, I did not know I could go to Amazon.com and rate a product. I spent $30.00 for the product, one regular and one of the platinum ones (BYGO) and $30.0 for postage (they got me on that big time). At first I thought it was working, my collie barked once and stopped and I'm thinking how great this is, I can sleep at night. My collie does not bark in the house unless the neighbors yippy dogs start barking but I also have a small yippy dog and this did not stop her at all. Nor did it stop my daughters 2 dogs that live next door from barking at my horse at 5 am. I hope these reviews help someone else to save their money.

The ads on TV are completely misleading. They took forever to deliver the product so I canceled the order. They sent it anyhow. This product is as effective in stopping a dog from barking as adhesive tape would be in sealing a hole in a battleship. It's worthless.

I am an engineer by trade. My wife bought this to try and keep our puppy from barking at the traffic on our road. It never worked as advertised. So I took it apart and ran some testing on it. IT DOES NOT WORK IN ANYWAY. A total rip off. Save your money and hte head aches.

As the owner of two one-year-old Chihuahua boys, I definitely needed something to train these yappers to stop yapping at ordinary sounds. The Bark Off arrived quickly and worked well at first. My dogs stopped immediately after hearing the sound. Now, I have to rattle it or blow in the little hole on the device for it to emit a sound. The adverts are misleading because the sound is definitely audible to human ears; it makes a loud "click". I also find that it can't simply be left on because it interprets every sound as a bark and starts to give me a headache and wear out my dogs' ears. All in all, I'm sad to say that this product isn't worth it, but I gave it three stars because it does 'work' - just under certain terms.

I ordered two of these devices and it does NOTHING. I don't even think they are making a sound. The dogs were not phased by it even for a second. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY>

As stated in the title: It's a great product. I'm tired of reading bad reviews by people who can't even spell correctly. I don't care if you're an engineer and took the product apart. I'm a retired engineer and realize there is no such thing as zero defects. You have the opportunity to return defective merchandise for refund or replacement. The one I received worked as soon as I turned it on, and yes my dog stopped barking and ran to the far corner of my home. With a little coaxing she came back into the room and found out the sound was no longer there which is proof that the device turns off. She hasn't barked since, but I will monitor her reaction to the Bark Off the next time she barks. I'm willing to bet that she won't bark as much as she did before I received the Bark Off. I highly recommend this product.

I bought Bark Off at a local big box pet store. It was ten dollars plus the cost for 9v battery it requires. I took it home and set it up. First time my dogs (Yorkie and Papillon) started barking, it must have gone off because they stopped and tucked their tail. The next morning, they started wrestling and barking and they were not phased at all. I didn't think it was working. I took out the battery and then put it back again to make sure the connections were right. It was fine. Now my dad is visiting with his two dogs (Cairn Terriers) and they bark when they chase the ball and this thing does NOT work. Rip off! Should have known by looking at the price and design.

As a dog trainer I knew better than to buy this product. It was almost impossible to make the battery fit and my dog didn't notice anything when he barked. A few days later, I noticed a difference in my dog. He was beside himself, couldn't relax and wouldn't leave me alone. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with him until he let me know by jumping up and putting his paws on the kitchen table (he never does this) where the "Bark Off" was sitting.

This piece of garbage was emmiting a noice the whole time and driving my dog insane! When I shut it off my dog visably relaxed and laid down on his bed. Do not buy this product.

Like others I was wishing I would have read these reviews. I ordered from the web site, which asked me how many free units I wanted. I typed in "0", yet when the charges were summarized it said $10 plus S&H for two units, for a total of $23.98. I called customer service and was informed that I had to order two units. A package deal. The rep said the website made it "very clear." So he said he would cancel my order even though it wasn't in the system yet. 5 days later the charge shows up on my account. I called again and they said there was no record of the cancellation and it already shipped. I have to pay to ship it back. The return address they gave me is some apartment number in Van Nuys! The customer service department is horrible!
