About the Author

Terry Ryan's been a community dog obedience class instructor since 1968. A busy workshop presenter herself, as President of Legacy Canine Behavior and Trainig, Inc., she hosts camps and seminars taught by well known dog experts from around the world. Terry works in Japan three to four months of the year with the Japan Animal Hospital Assoc., DINGO, the Japan Canine Good Citizen Program and the Japan Guide Dog Association. She writes various columns and is author of other publications including the books "Toolbox for Remodeling Your Problem Dog" and "Coaching People to Train Their Dogs." Terry and Bill Ryan along with their pets live on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.

"The Bark Stops Here" is a must have book for anyone who is dealing with a barking dog. Terry Ryan has filled a much-needed spot on every dog owner's shelf with this book. Yes, we want dogs to bark for various reasons, including that it's a normal form of communication for the species, but there comes a time when enough is enough and sometimes it's too much. Terry Ryan helps owners understand the barking and teach the dog to stop unnecessary barking

Terry has done a good job of explaining the variety of different reasons dogs can bark to excess. By encouraging the owners to first analyze and understand the problem from the dog's point of view, she helps the owner take the first step in resolving the problem. Every dog owner needs to know how to manage their pets barking behavior, and dog trainers, too, will benefit from this ready-reference type resource! Get this book! This is on the recommended reading list of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers,and of the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors.
