The latest Barnes reloading manual is good as far as it goes. It has two weaknesses. First, it does not have up-to-date reloading info on the new hot products, such as the ballistic tipped triple shock (TTSX). Barnes makes these data hard to come by, and it's very annoying. Second, reviewing the Barnes ammunition I've used in the past, it's obvious they've backed way off their recommended loads, such that reloaders are brewing up their own recipes and sharing them around. In my opinion, this is likely to lead to injury. They should be more realistic about maximum loads and stop letting their lawyers write the manuals.

Very disappointed in this manual. Found it to contain very limted data on some very basic calibers. Full of pictures of Joe Ed Bob's most excellent hunting trip and testimonials. I don't need either of those. Just the data please. Far better manuals out there and even if you are loading with Barnes you can get this data elsewhere.

i bought this book because i just bought their bullets and were going to load my 7X30 waters. well it turns out they dont have my caliber in the book. looks like they picked a few of the popular cartriges in each bullet diameter. so now i have a nice book to collect dust on the shelf.

Good manual , but didn't include data for the TSX that I was looking for. Maybe the online site will help.

It was a nice read, but I was rather disappointed with the load data section. It referenced only a few powder selections for the cartridges I was interested. Plus it only had load data for the 480 Rugger not the 475 Linebaugh, which was the load I was most interested in. The Linebaugh pistol shoots either cartridge so to me it was like having data for the 44 special but not the 44 mag. I enjoyed the antidotal stories that accompanied each cartridge, which is why I gave it a rating of 3 stars. Without the stories it would be a 1.5 - 2 star in my book. I believe Barnes is coming out with #5 so I would not recommend #4 to my friends.

I have found this book very helpful for loading as I do prefer barnes .308 triple shock bullet great for hunting. It would definitely recommend for those wanting more specific load data (without the whole trial and error) for barnes bullets.
