Kind of long review but worth it! For starters I am new to crossbow hunting. I have always rifle hunted (7 Years) since I started because I didnt have the patience or means to get this close to a deer.

After 7 Years of using rifles my brother bought a compound bow ($500)...I couldn't afford it so I got the next best thing, a crossbow. And out of the box it nailed the target! You can robin hood every bolt if you are steady and it hits the targets so hard that I have to put 2 1' thick targets back to back to stop the bolts. If not the bolts go roughly 3-4 inches into the dirt hill behind my target.

Onto the fun part, during the hunt. I get to my spot (ground hunting) and cock the crossbow with the hand rope cocking device (best $15 ever spent on this bow). I do reccomend getting a spare battery CR2032 for the red dot scope as last time I hunted had a deer 35 yards out and the battery was dead (original from factory) therefore no brown on the ground. However today I hunted at daybreak and 3 does came out from my left, I had time to spot with my rangefinder (30 yards) and turned on the red dot and took a large doe with it! Everything worked flawlessly!

I was using the stock arrows, barnett rope cocking device, and thunderhead 125gr broadheads fixed 3 blade (6 for $38). The setting was me against a tree on the gound against the woodline overlooking a couple hay fields cut a week ago. The deer (all 3) ran roughly 50 yards and looked back at me after I shot, the wounded doe side stepped a couple feet and fell over in her tracks!! My first deer with a bow! No tracking or anything! A solid shot roughly a couple inches above the vitals (me shaking) and a perfect triangular hole right through! This crossbow has so much power I could not find the arrow idk how far it traveled. My thoughts were that after it was hit it didnt realize it because it jumped twice and casually trotted away then fell over while staring me down. : My brother and his friend (compound bows) have taken multiple shots and missed all 6 times combined... The Jackal is very affordable and fun to hunt with!

Very nice crossbow for the money. Just got it for Christmas so I haven't had a chance to hunt with it yet. Fit and finish looks very good. I have shot it several time and the accuracy is spot on. I would recommend this bow for purchase.
