The ever-popular Quad 400 crossbow has long been designed to optimize power and firing accuracy, and has recently been updated with some new features. Key updates include a high density gas assist stock, a first in the industry, which is more comfortable and contains an integrated cocking device attachment, concealed by the contoured cheek piece. Other improvements include a thumbhole grip and 15.5-inch power stroke, with a parallel limb design which produces arrow speeds of up to 345-feet-per-second. The kit comes complete with quiver, three 22-inch arrows, and red dot sight.

This crossbow does have alot of weight to it but does have nice balence.It is 7 lb. because almost all part are metal and good quality.I would rather have quality, power,accurate and durability over light weight,for hunting or survival situation.Out of the box came with in 2" of the bulls eye at 15 yards and with a little adjusting its hit the bulls eye every time at 20 yards.345 feet per second is the most you will need.I do sugest really good qaulity targets for the qaud 400, it can go right thew most targets.I put a target arrow into an oak tree at 20 yards 4 1/2" into the tree,could not pull arrow out,you could take down a bear if needed with this bow.The 3D camo.paint is outstanding quality.Red/gren dot scope is very nice,very fun to use and easy,good upto 50 yrds.battery is low quality short lived I sugest getting a 5 or 6 pack of 3V coin type battery or get the 40x scope package.But the red/green 3 dot scope is a must try.could be helpful if you have bad eyes.Hard to cock I sugest a hand crank if you have a bad back or shoulder other wise gloves will work fine,but hand crank is nice to have if you want to shoot more than 3 shots per outing,more than 3 pulls you will be sore,hands and shoulders.Great crossbow for a quick humane hunting.The best choice on amozon.

This is the first time I've written a review for a product. THIS BOW IS AWSOME. I have a Barnett Thunderbolt I bought in the late 80's, still shoots great, but I wanted a new bow for my son. This thing is so superior to my thunderbolt it's not funny. After sighting it in I was hitting the bull's-eye at 55 yards - THAT'S INSANE!
Plenty of power, nice balance, comfortable to shoot, tack driving accuracy - Great job Barnett! Make sure you read the manual before shooting. I also use a ruler to find the center of the bow string, then I mark it with permanent marker, from here I mark the string 3/4 inch on each side of center. This way you can make sure string is centered for every shot, very important for accuracy! and makes sure you don't break the bow limbs from uneven cocking. On the third time cocking one of the limbs seperated pulling the pulley out. Could have been dangerous, Amazon was very good about shipping another one out next day air and I was told that this was the first time this happened. Hopefully they are right.....I felt Barnett was a well known product and reliable...I did receive the second crossbow the next day, nice job Amazon...BUT...after one shot the safety would not disengage because the rubber coating was torn for what ever reason not allowing the arrow (bolt) to be able to go in place. So the crossbow was cocked but unable to shoot a bolt. So I had to hold the cocking device and force the safety forward to release the cocked string, I sent everything back and will never buy a Barnett....Amazon was very good about returning all of the items I purchased pertaining to the crossbow.
