upon recieving this item i was really excited, having heard the barnett name before... sorry to say that wasnt the issue... out of the package the crossbow was missing parts and didnt go together well. the red dot sight is GARBAGE... the safety mechanism flat out DID NOT WORK.. once you did get it on, the only way to get the safety off was to use a pocket knife in the mechanism. the whole trigger mechanism did not fit into the stock, causing the sight rack to be off, causing the bow to be garbage as well. After the 3rd shot the string started to fray in over 3 spots.. Thank GOD Amazon is good with returns and refunds..

I purchased this Crossbow a couple of weeks ago for my 18 year old daughter, we sited it in the afternoon it came in and she killed an 8 pointer the following evening, it is working fantastically.

i've hunted with crossbows for several years and have not enjoyed hunting more until I got this one. Very accurate, quieter than most. And well worth the money. The built in self-cocking mechanism is a real treat.
No deer ever complained about my using this bow. Most 150lb. crossbows don't exceed the 300f.p.s. range, but this
one does. Hope they never change anything about this crossbow, it is perfect the way it is.

I recently purchased this crossbow for target shooting. I do need the Barnett crank cocking device; I am in good physical condition (middle aged male who can pass age-appropriate US Army fitness test), but I weigh less than the draw weight for this crossbow. I rated the cocking device favorably in a separate review. Otherwise, it is a lot of fun to shoot and is very powerful and accurate within its practical range.

The only downside in this package is that the red dot sight is not optimal. I am comfortable with the use of similar optical sighting devices, but I find the brightness of this one to be a bit dim in full daylight. Otherwise, it does not add too much weight to the bow, does not unbalance it, has five different brightnesses for red and green dots, and has three different points of aim for drop compensation.

I did have to contact Barnett directly about an issue with the arrow retainer, and found them to be very helpful and responsive.
