Book Description

March 14, 2005
When old man Grandpa Googlemeyer falls down and bangs his head, he discovers a new-found memory. He calls up his son Jim's reckless childhood and all of the crazy stunts Jim and his brothers pulled off in the neighborhood. The story is very funny and lighthearted until his favorite grandson Barney is involved in a tragic paintball adventure, which makes the old man turn serious. Grandpa Googlemeyer is a classic storyteller and keeps you laughing and crying in his details. Eddie Patowski, the town bully, pounds Barney on the football turf daily, but he is no match for a Googlemeyer in the forest. His foolish ways lead him down a trail of chaos and destruction. Can Barney, Kurt and Jim Googlemeyer save Eddie? Read inside and find out, but the old man will keep you laughing, crying and guessing until the very end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Fantastic, March 28, 2005
This review is from: Barney Googlemeyer, Paintball Hero (Paperback)
A great story written with humor & wit, about generations of family where even the ordinary becomes extraordinary . The writer's use of descriptive words puts the reader into the story and is reminiscent of every family & every childhood. There is humor, mystery & suspense - the kind of book you want to read & then read again,
recommend & share with your own family & friends. It's easy to imagine this story as the beginning of a T.V. sitcom.
I definitely look forward to a sequel by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh and Cry, October 28, 2005
This review is from: Barney Googlemeyer, Paintball Hero (Paperback)
This book has most readers laughing throughout. There is some adult humor but no one said it was a childrens book. The mother of a 14 year old boy bought it for her son. She said he could not put it down. She had always had a difficult time getting her son to read. The story is very interesting and there are elements that any teenager or adult can relate to. Drama, suspense, humor and fear. This story touches on many emotions and reads very well. The author uses excellent description in his details. NEVER LET A CHILD READ A BOOK IF YOU HAVE NOT REVIEWED IT FIRST. DUH!

1.0 out of 5 stars This is not for kids!, October 28, 2005

This review is from: Barney Googlemeyer, Paintball Hero (Paperback)
I bought this for my son, who is doing a report for school on paintballing. When he started reading it, he alerted me to several profane words on the first page- this book is absoulutely filled with foul language. It is most definitely not for kids, and we'll be sending it right back.
