Due to the title I assumed that this DVD would primarily focus on the alphabet, something my daughter and I have been working on over the last couple of months, you can imagine my surprise when the entire first 21 mins of the video was just shapes. Of course if you're more careful then I am about reading the information and finding out everything about the DVD, then you will find yourself with a great video for learning a lot about shapes and a little about your ABC's. My daughter knows all her shapes so it didn't help us much, but I will save it for my son for when we are working on his shapes. Also I like to know how long these things are and can't seem to find the info, this DVD is 126 mins long including special features, it has a bonus episode that is 30 mins long.

Yes, the title is misleading and the ABC's is just a third of this video. However, What most people don't know and Amazon does not show on "Product Details" is that most of Barney's videos have a Spanish soundtrack. So on the menu for Languages you can change it to Spanish! I kept looking for Spanish videos as I want my child to be bilingual, and when I bought this video is was a nice surprise, when you change the language you see the SAME video dubbed in Spanish. Yes, weird the words do not match the lips, but the songs have the same rhythm! and kids already know and love the video and can easily get the connection and learn it in Spanish! I bought this and the numbers video.

really entertained my 18mth old but definetly not a video to learn your abc's this video is mostly colors and shapes theres alot of songs and bright colors and a small part to learn abcs my daughter did learn to say red and abc so it is a great addition to our collection

I think that this video is great. It begins with shapes and then reviews letters by spelling names and singing songs!! I like to play it in both English and Spanish. The video is a good length too. Not to short and not to long. My 1 and 1/2 loves Barney!

I bought this for my 1 1/2 yr old daughter and she loves it! She actually learned from the video!!! She now knows most of her ABC's and different shapes and colors! The quality of the video is very good overall. I used to watch Barney videos from the past on VHS and they were horrible. This title is well edited and the acting is above average. All the songs are great too! I am planning to buy more Barney videos.

I really like this movie because, it teaches little kids like me really good learning skills like the abc's,shapes, and colors really well! And since I'm a 10-year-old boy and still on a pre-school level of learning, in the end this movie really helps me! Exspecielly when i'm trying to memorize some of the letters that are very, very, hard to say out loud, my mommy sings with Barney on the video then she helps me sing the letters out with her , which really helps me out a lot!!! I just really love this movie so so much! And i also love my mommy so so much as well! I'm so glad that she bought me this movie this year, because i'm learning a lot every day by movies like this one, and my mommy is
teaching me a whole lot too! So anyways i recommend this movie to a lot of ages of kids like me and also kids like myself that have learning problems with the a b c's or shapes and colors as well! Hope this review helped! See-ya

Mostly about shapes and colors. What a waste of my 25 month year old's time. He was bored of it easily because he enjoys letters and being stimulated. I feel very mislead by the title.

This was a gift for a little Barney Fan....as a parent...I guess Barney is what I expected after research and reviews....It is educational....musical and entertaining at best....I don't personally like Barney...but the little one does and her smile...dancing and learning makes it worth the purchase.

I have to agree with other reviewers- I thought most of this movie would be about the ABC's, but it ended up being about colors and shapes as well. I'm not complaining that it goes over colors and shapes, but the title is misleading. Having said that, I still rated this movie 5 stars because it's still very helpful in teaching children ABC's, colors, and shapes. My 17-month-old daughter loves this movie and tries to sing and dances with it.

This is a very entertaining and educational video. My 20 month old grandchild is mesmerized by this video, and is already saying and singing the letters.She would watch this 24 hrs a day if i let her!
