Barney and the kids use letters to imagine a whole alphabet zoo. The kids imitate animals and sing about tigers and camels and kookaburras. Julie's Aunt Molly drops by with a funny story told in animal sounds, and Jason shows us how to say "I love you" in sign language. It's another imaginative episode matching some educational elements with pure fun. Among the tunes: "Animals in Motion" and "Down by the Station." --Tom Keogh

Our 22 month old twins keep asking us to watch Barney's video from the moment they wake up. They just love to see Barney and his friends moving all the time. They even started to sing along the "I LOVE YOU" song. They learned the names of the animals in English although it is not their mother tongue. They watch this video up to the end without losing their concentration, and they get upset when it ends. They want to watch it again and again...

This was one of the few bad Barney tapes I've seen. I bought it at full price and ended up selling it for $5. The lady telling the story entirely scared my 1 year old son. She had these big bulging eyes that even frightened me. Definitely DON'T waste your money on this one. There's tons of better ones--such as Barney's Big Surprise, Once upon a Time and Let's Play School. Buy those instead!!!

This tape is nothing but a typical 30-minute Barney episode. What's the point? The show is on every day, and you can buy a blank video tape for a dollar.

So there's no "real animals" in this video! Well, that's what the imagination is all about. Some have loved this video, or should I say, their kids have, and others haven't liked it at all. To attest to my twin toddler girls, this is a real treat, and the songs and dances are just as fun.

The problem with some Barney videos is that sometimes we don't always want to use our imagination, and it goes for the kids, too. In just about every Barney video, you won't always find the "real" thing, just the imaginary. It's like reading a book, and really "seeing" what you're reading about.

This video is just fine, and highly recommended!!!

My son was thrilled when he was first introduced to Barney through this video. I always used to wonder why kids love Barney.... I just picked up this video from our public library for my son. He knew all the alphabets and animals as he was almost two years old when he saw this. But he just loved the dances and songs. So much so that later he would insist that we should dance with him in a circle or as a train whenever a song started. At one time even our guests were not spared and made to run around in circles. They, ofcourse loved to do that for the sake of kids.

I have to say that this video is not as good as some of the others. I do, believe it or not, enjoy watching Barney with my toddler, but this one bothers me. Since my son loves Barney, we watch a lot of it. If that sounds like your child, choose a different video...you'll be thankful you did! I like Once Upon a Time and Imagination Island in particular.

My 21 month old son loves this video, especially Aunt Molly's story! He grins from ear-to-ear while she tells her story. Her voice and face are so animated! He received this gift as a Christmas present and I was really surprised to see it didn't get great reviews.
