I wish Vlvaldi and the other composers were alive to hear this recording - it's that good. To hear a trumpet produce the nuances of color Marsalis is able to produce on that instrument are pure genius! The Vivaldi C Major for 2 trumpets is so perfectly in sync that the listener forgets the soloist is not making the two sounds simultaneously, but on dual tracks. It's stunning to hear, and the same level of performance carries through all of the works. Another rare pleasure is his ornamentation, absolutely brilliant and baroque, but modernly original at the same time. I know this recording will totally satisfy any lover of Baroque music, and many other listeners as well.

Clarity---wow! Already a favorite CD----magnificent trumpet music----sharp, clear, emotional nuances in presentation----all you could ask for in Baroque trumpet music plus more!

It is a delight and pleasure to listen to Wynton Marsalis play the trumpet to compositions by Antonio Vivaldi, Georg P. Telemann, Johann
Pachelbel, he does their music justice. I can truly say I enjoy every peice on this CD. I would highly recommend this CD for anyone
who loves Baroque Music played with vibrance.

Wonderful, a lovely piece of music, a must have in any music collection, classic or otherwise. Vey good value for money.
