Simply Amazing,

This is the most virtuosic & artistict recorder playing I've heard in a long time. Pamela Thorby's performance of the Vivaldi Concerti is absolutely top notch. Her fast tempos are filled with excitement and flare. She has total control in all the technical passages. It is very seldom to hear virtuosic playing (of any instrument) combined with total artistry. Many times performers are virtuosic and flashy but lack artistry. Thorby has it both!!! I highly recommend this recording to everyone. Thorby has knocked M. Petri over and has taken her spot as my most favorite recorder player!

I was sad to see that this CD is no longer available. I guess I'd better lock mine away for safe keeping! :-) The playing is direct, smooth, and flawless. Thorby carries a line on a recorder like all of us wish we could. Thorby plays with ease and a lack of distracting ornamentations. She is not a technical show off (although her technique is great). Find this! -- G
