5.0 out of 5 stars THESE ARE THE GOGGLES!
If you are a recreational swimmer looking for goggles--I've tried 'em all--TYR, Speedo, you name it--these are the ones. I have been swimming 3 days a week for 30 years, and these are the ONLY goggles that fit. You have to take a bit of time to adjust them (bring the goggles, alternate nose pieces, and allen wrenches to the pool the first two weeks). Read the...

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent pair of swimming goggles
I find these goggles to be decent. The level of comfort is excellent because of the positive pressure seal that does not leave the raccoon eye that other goggles leave. These goggles are definitely for smaller faces, unlike their sister goggles the Standard. I have a very unique face size which in a way leaves these goggles fitting but on the snug side, but their...

Read the instructions! Take time to fit them to your face, and you will be rewarded by an amazing seal lasting two years.

I do notice that it takes about 5-6 swims for the foam to conform to my face. So when new, I tighten the head strap a bit too tight, and then loosen after about two weeks once the foam has conformed to the contours of my face. Once you have them conformed, they will last for years, and never need further tinkering. You basically are creating a custom goggle for your face.

They are so soft and comfortable, and completely leak-free (I wear soft contacts, so I cannot tolerate *any* leaking). I use the clear or smoke for indoor swimming, and the tinted for outdoor. I have several models of Barracudas. The Medalist fits my skinny face the best. The Standard is better for a large (man's) face.

A pair of Barracudas lasts me 2-3 years swimming three times a week. At some point the glue between the foam and the eye cups comes undone. You can fix it using rubber cement, but it's never quite the same, and time to buy a new pair.

Also ALWAYS put them on dry, on a dry face--NOT wet. This is anti-intuitive, but trust me, dry seal works, wet goggles do not seal.

I keep them in a hard clam shell glasses case to prevent anything in my swimbag from denting the foam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Barracuda Goggles, August 6, 2010

Being in the water five times a week as a masters' swimmer, I need goggles that are gentle on my face yet don't let in water. No one likes red, "raccoon-eyes" going into the office! Barracuda goggles are definitely the way to go to lessen the marks on the face. I especially like the medalist version because they seal better on my smaller face. Although the Barracuda's are a bit more expensive, they are definitely worth the extra dollars.

I find these goggles to be decent. The level of comfort is excellent because of the positive pressure seal that does not leave the raccoon eye that other goggles leave. These goggles are definitely for smaller faces, unlike their sister goggles the Standard. I have a very unique face size which in a way leaves these goggles fitting but on the snug side, but their sister goggles are too big, so I recommend if someone is debating which style to get, go for the smaller type, if there is doubt on the fit. These goggles are more expensive than most other goggles, so the right fit is important in order to get your money's worth. Overall, I have no major complaints.
