Kinky is one of those groups with roots in Mexico but fans on both sides of the Rio Grande. They continue to push the boundries of their music by presenting their blend of electronica in both English and Spanish. Really their dance music is such that language is not as important as their booty-shaking beats that are pure adrenaline. They remind me a little of another group from south of the border, way south, as in Venezuela, by the name of Los Amigos Invicibles Tributo a Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. I say that because both groups sing in both English and Spanish to their dance music where the lyrics are secondary. They also both have a style that at times is comical; where the lyrics are funny to go along with the fun music. "Those Girls" is one of those songs where it is evident they don't take themselves that seriously and just want you to have fun. It is reminiscent of early Oingo Boingo Only a Lad "Masacre Sonica"is a crazy-beat driven that is bilingual and very upbeat. By contrast "The Day I lost the Beat" is pure beat without any lyrics."TachiMariPedonCocongo," yes, that is a title of a track, is a wild hyperbeat driven tune that is as cool as the title. There is not much in the way of chill music here but the closest to that is the track " We Proudly Present" with a slight downtempo style, other than that it is dance party music. The disc is a fun disc to throw in your mix for after hours fun or to get the party started.Recommended for fun, fun, fun.
