Updated and supplemented with a brand-new CD-ROM, this manual prepares dental school applicants across the United States and Canada to pass the required admissions test. The book opens with an overview of the DAT that includes test-taking advice, followed by a description of dental education and the practice of dentistry. A review of all DAT test topics is presented. They include general surveys of biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry, as well as testing for perceptual ability, reading comprehension, and quantitative reasoning. Two full-length model DATs complete this manual and come with all questions answered and explained. The DAT is a computerized test, and this book's bonus CD-ROM presents two additional model DATs that simulate actual test-taking conditions. They come with automatic scoring.
Richard A. Lehman, writing fiction as 'Arty Gold', was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1948. He attended Worthington High School where he managed to graduate in 1966 and went to Ohio State University where he managed to attend one specific class which proved to be of absolutely no use to him later in life. C'est la vie.
He has been joyfully married to Kathryn, the love of his life, for more than thirty years. Why she puts up with him is still a mystery.
His first novel, "Holding The Bag", (eBook available on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Holding-Bag-Tapone-Novels-ebook/dp/B005T636VK/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1325423700&sr=1-1) has (so far) been awarded no prizes but - maybe later. He is currently at work on his next two books, "Up A Creek" and "A Crooked Mile", both should be available in 2012.
He and his family spent a summer living in a Maya village on the Yucatan peninsula where he continues to work with a local pastor leading short term Christian missions (www.missionmaya.org). Much of the local color in "Holding The Bag" comes from his long experience in the Zona Maya of the Yucatan.
