I'm a microbiology graduate, studying for the RN (net) exam. Thus far, this is the third study guide I've gone through.

Kaplan was the first. Poorly written and full of errors and very brief. Another was the NET review by a private company... while well written, also very short and pretty basic.

On to Barrons... I've never really tried Barron's material. I'm not sure if their typeface has always been what irk's me but I've never thought too much about Barron's materials. Once I started going through this , I quickly realized all the "Super secret" study methods Kaplan and the other guide present are in here as well, only in better detail. And the same goes for the material.

This covers the most material I have seen yet, and in more detail. Furthermore, while it says it has only 2 exams, the text is filled with mini-exams throughout!

Lastly, the beginning of the book has a brief overview of the several different nursing exams... something I did not see in the other reviews. It just gives you the name of the exam, and subjects covered and questions asked.... like NET: covers Reading comp (30 questions), and Math (60 question), and a personality/stress/study habits portion.

For $4 more than the Kaplan guide, you get 3x the information, presented correctly and without error like the Kap guide has.

I may give other barron's guides a try after this.

Overall I would suggest this, IN CONJUNCTION with other guides.... I'm using 5... the more the better ;)

This book is very informative and easy to understand. After being out of school for 17 years it was easy to understand. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who is going to be taking the TEAS test.

I thought that this study guide was precise and to the point. It explained everything in great detail. The sample quizzes were very helpful.
