Barron's SSAT/ISEE (Barron's How to Prepare for High School Entrance Examinations)

As a test prep tutor, I try all the texts. There are fewer choices for the ISEE and SSAT than for the SAT, but a lot of variation among the main competitors. Barron's text is excellent and generally much better than all the others. The math section, in particular, is practically a textbook, not just review. Higly recommended. Be aware, though, that this workbook only covers the high school tests, not the lower levels.

My son used this book to prepare for the SSAT, and he took the SSAT a few days ago. This book lists several hundred vocab words to study, but my son said only two of those words appeared on the actual SSAT. He also said the math on the SSAT was much easier than the exercises in this book.

why is that when customers have been complaining for the last 10 years that they still have the same mistakes?
Poorly made.
-Just look at the vocab section.
-Their Reading comp questions and passages are not even similar to the questions you see on actual SSAT
-Answers are on the bottom of the problem-its so visible!
-Not enough exercises.
disappointing...

I just received this book in the mail. It is a helpful source and I am sure I will be using it often. I recommend buying it.
