Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

This concise, single-source guide for real estate players includes a tersely worded but well-illustrated glossary of terms (making up half the book) and various payment and amortization tables. Home buyers and sellers, real estate investors, and individuals considering a real estate career are well served by this overview. Though not elaborate in detail, the text is a convenient initial reference. Revised to include the considerable changes brought about by the 1986 tax law, it is a valuable resource for all libraries. This review is from: Barron's Real Estate Handbook (Hardcover)
This is a great book to have a available for the beginner real estate agent. This book was essential in assistaing me in passing the Real Estate License Exam the first time. It allowed me access to tons of terms which aren't readily available in other books. Now that i am just getting started in selling real estate it has become a life saver when I run across terms I don't know. Sure, it's not something you would read next to the fireplace, but it's a nice reference to have sitting in the office!

4.0 out of 5 stars It belongs on the shelves of real estate participants, November 14, 2009
This is a guide that belongs on the shelves of agents, appraisers, investors, and others who are involved in the real estate industry. It covers topics such as the buying and selling processes, how to read appraisal reports, and what type of career options are available in real estate. Probably the most beneficial section is the detailed glossary which takes about half of the book. I am not sure how many people are using mortgage calculation tables, but they are also included. I personally use a financial calculator.
