I saw a Cowsill concert recently, had been a fan in the 60's and 70's, and bought this album because Barry had obviously already passed away. I wanted to hear how his music had evolved. Boy, was I surprised. It was totally different than the old stuff...TOTALLY....but I loved it! Makes me wish more people could have heard it while he was living.

Feeling Cowsills nostalgic, I bought Susan's "Lighthouse" CD and was impressed by her cover of Barry's "River of Love." That led me to this surprisingly soulful album, which features intelligent songwriting, gut wrenching vocals and no frills guitar work, reminiscent of both Keith Richards and Neil Young at their best. That this powerful collection came from a Cowsill makes it all the more astonishing and all the more sad considering his untimely death. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy.

And a fine one at that! There is maybe 2 songs I didn't really care for but hey, you can't like every song on every album! His voice is strong and clear and the album is musically very solid. I can't really classify this in any 'style' because there are a few different types represented. Goin'Home is the strongest track, and sounds like a hit to me! But all in all, a good, quality outing for Barry Cowsill, he could have, and would have done much more. RIP Barry.

Who knew there was a rocker hiding behind their Daddy's control of the band. This CD is very surprising in the way it rocks. Unfortunately, i understand that Barry is no longer with us. This is one of the most consistent albums I've heard. No attempting various genres, this is where the man's heart lies.
