Well let me say that this book is awesome. I found out about this book from a friend of mine that showed me one night her book. Well I immediately needed to get it. The book is broken down by the different liquors and what you can make from it, from making drinks with Tequila to drinks that require Vodka. 1.0 out of 5 stars Not for the casual mixer
This book is intended for real bartenders or individuals that know a lot more about mixing drinks than the average person who wants to mix a drink they heard of. The main chapters may be titled by main liquors but the recipes have no real organization. The indexes in the back are horrible. Under the index labeled "Recipes by Style" there's a heading for "Dry" which list...

Well let me say that this book is awesome. I found out about this book from a friend of mine that showed me one night her book. Well I immediately needed to get it. The book is broken down by the different liquors and what you can make from it, from making drinks with Tequila to drinks that require Vodka. It also has easy to follow instruction on how to measure the amount of liquor you can add to a mix drink. The best part of the book and probably most ingenious is that the book is covered so that it can not get wet when making drinks! So you can even have this at your side when making your favorite drink.

This book is intended for real bartenders or individuals that know a lot more about mixing drinks than the average person who wants to mix a drink they heard of. The main chapters may be titled by main liquors but the recipes have no real organization. The indexes in the back are horrible. Under the index labeled "Recipes by Style" there's a heading for "Dry" which list the recipe for a Tequila Martini but not for the traditional Martini. Instead, I found the Dry Martini recipe in the index for "Which drink for which occasion?" and it wasn't listed the Alphabetical index either. I am donating my copy because it's not going to be beneficial to me.

This review is from: The Bartender's Guide (Paperback)
This book has a lot of information for those who would like to set up their own home bar, and so many drink recipes that a prfessional bartender would find it useful.
