A true herbal classic,
This review is from: Bartram's Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine: The Definitive Guide to the Herbal Treatments of Diseases (Paperback)
I love alternative medicine classics - books that are uniquely authoritative and crammed with information. I use this book constantly. There is simply no other source of herbal information which is so comprehensive. It must have taken a lifetime to write. This book is also holistic and does not bow to science at the expense of leaving out valuable traditional information.Linda Lazarides Author: The Waterfall Diet; Treat Yourself with Nutritional Therapy

A holistic approach in a form that is pragmatic and informative. It is a reference that guides the paractitoner to continue to consider various alternatives for a condition. The number of relevant conditions similarly, makes this a quick reference marker for approriate prescriptions. I refer to it for confirmation and confidence daily.

I love this book... I have not had it to long, but in the amount of time I have had it, I have found it to be very useful. It has Categories of Herbs, Medical Issues,( including rare disorders,) and in some cases, such as Cancer, it has Sub-Categories.... For example: Cancer----- Stomache and Intestinal Cancer------ Lung Cancer-------Womb Cancer --------- Testicle Cancer ------- Rectal Cancer ------ Skin Cancer --------- Sarcoma Cancer ------- Squamus Cell Carcinoma Cancer --- Spleen Cancer ------- Prostate Gland Cancer ------------ Ovarian Cancer ---------------- Pancreas Cancer ------ etc, etc, etc....... Has information on Mineral and Vitamins, and it is all in alphabetical order.... And a lot of the time, there are dosages that he suggests..... Also info on preparations, and the best ways to use specific herbs...
The author spent 15 years to complete this book, all the while using the methods and herbs described... All in all... this is a GREAT book, and EVERYONE should have one.... It makes a useful book and is very rewarding to read, as I am currentely studying to be a Master Herbalist....
