4.0 out of 5 stars Good game for families and kids into baseball
Not a game for hardcore gamers, it's a collection of mini-games that are baseball themed, fun for kids and families that are into baseball.
The graphics are real nice and pleasing and there is a good variety of games and unlock-ables to make you try again to get a better trophy.
Bob Ueker does the commentary which is fun.
Again, good game for kids and...

2.0 out of 5 stars at least I liked the commercial for Baseball Blast.
only 2 batting games out of 20, which are both featured on the commercial. the loading times after each short minigame is a long wait. the best game in my opinion is the one called Diamond Double (featured in the commercial above). the game is so short though. you get 9 tries and the game is over. then you must wait a long time for loading to play the game again...

secondly, I connected my classic controller and it didn't seem to work as 2K claims this game to work with the classic controller. third of all, this game also claims to have an on-line mode. I beat all of these boring games expecting to see something. NOTHING! I unlocked a Puzzle. WOW! that was real boring.
I must admit though that the graphics were very pleasant and calming. that's the only positive I can think of. I also thought that it might be fun for a father to get his son interested in the game of baseball, and Baseball Blast may help a teeny tiny bit, so I rated it 2 stars instead of 1.

I bought this game for my 7 year old grandson and he loves it. It is easy for him to play alone or he can have others play with him. Of all the Wii baseball games he has this is one of his favorite.w

Some of the game modes are fun, and others were designed by the fun police. My 7 year old son likes to play Wii for hours, but this game has him disinterested in about 30 minutes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Arcade mini games for kids under 8, otherwise dull/too simplified, April 9, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Baseball Blast! (Video Game)
this is the usual collection of various baseball themed mini games.
graphics:
the graphics are actual 3d instead of 2d cartoons which is a good step up, but aren't great, but not bad at all for the usual mini game collection, though, of course, not as good as rayman raving rabbids series at all.
menu/options:
you get to choose your team, not a name/player & play about 8 sets of 3 games, 1 of each set is locked until you get an achievement/preset goal in the 2 other games (they can be unlocked w/easy difficulty). the games at least have easy, medium, hard & locked pro difficulties which is great, though when I played between easy/medium or hard, I sometimes could barely make out a difference. you get a tiny bronze trophy for easy & gold for hard, etc.
announcer(s):
there is commentary by real baseball announcers, someone said Bob Ueker, which could be true, I do like him & I did like the announcer here. I wish though they had the announcers do more lines or be programmed better to go with the action, it seemed random during, but the end results matched the lines, but again, needed more lines.
controls:
motion+ is non-existent. this is mostly d-pad & horizontal tilt controlled games & button presses w/a couple swings/waggles added. even in batting practice with a bejeweled in air scoring system, it was wii sports baseball timing, not motion+ actual angle.
games:
most games have 4 player use, so if you don't have enough human players, you have AI, I didn't check if there is any split screen, but most games have you see all 4 players at once or is a turn-based style.
use d-pad to point & throw to other baseman hitting stars that move in preset ways avoiding the mitt icons.
tilt your guy to catch all the numerous baseballs that fall fast like an old kaboom game.
tilt to catch baseballs while shoving other players while avoiding the monstrous baseballs that might come instead.
grab bases literally & bring them home to score while shoving & stealing them from other players.
bumper cars on a huge base to push off other players & has a dash ability (uses remote in joystick vertical hold).
find the baseball fan on the very pixelated large screen (not a single female fan in any bleachers at all).
bat by hitting the highest/center jewels for the most points.
hit the baseball backs at the cannon ships (only timing, always goes back to same ship) & baseballs come very often so only have time for 1/4-1/2 a swing, nice graphics/style.
tilt to avoid the baseballs coming from machine like dodge ball & game is on a timer.
throw a 100 mph fast ball by waggling to get power meter up & then clicking when arrows meet.
grab all the trophies in the street by throwing to various players on the grid city w/various areas blocked off.
jump (A) or slide (B) your automatic speed running player as he runs to catch stars, slide over bases, avoid high/low baseballs & tigers that try to knock you out before you reach the home base on a side scrolling screen (actually not too bad an arcade game idea, but needs more).
a spin the 5-6 circular pieces on a disc to put the team logo back to normal.
hit the ball & as the ball flies over a long forward scrolling screen, tilt it to avoid static players w/mitts & fly over pendants for points until hit fence for home run.
hit the ball & as the ball goes out in space, control it to go through rings next to planet obstacles (hard to control).
struggling to remember even though I only brought back the game 3 days ago, yeah, this game is THAT memorable... I think I only remember the games I had to play more then 1x to get the achievement to unlock the games because I didn't understand the text controls immediately or took getting used to the controls which I always succeed on the 2nd try & unlocked all games.
Oh, on multi player there is a card system as well as a trivia games...

all in all, a cute arcade style mini game collection for young kids who likes baseball even a little, but besides a few games, probably too simple/dull for older kids, teenagers, etc., though as said, I didn't unlock/try pro difficulty.

I did not like the game, a bit complicated, the missions are not as good, the best is the boat, it is very monotonous, always the same

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it more than I thought I would!, May 28, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Baseball Blast! (Video Game)
I was a little skeptical based on the reviews, but I got it anyway since I was looking for something to use with the wii motion plus. People are calling it baseball themed minigames, but there really is some pitching (throwing motions) and batting (swinging the control) involved. The games are fairly easy to figure out, which I find to be a real plus. The multiplayer mode has an inning of baseball followed by minigames, then repeat based on the number of rounds of play selected. Single player is basically only minigames. There's also a trivia mode that can be easily unlocked. It's a fun little game to play for adults who don't have the time and patience for long, complex games (or 9 innings of baseball).
Likes: Multiplayer mode, graphics, ability to pick a real team, Bob Uecker's voiceover. (The price was good too!)
Dislikes: Could have had more minigames.
