Physical education expert and baseball coach of 18 years' experience Marty Schupak Drills & Techniques for Catchers is a DVD offering creative drills and techniques for training young adults for the responsibilities of the catching position. Topics include blocking techniques, agility drills, throwing techniques, set-up and positioning, framing, snap throws, equipment overview, and fun games to play while honing one's strengths. A user-friendly DVD with easy-to-follow demonstrations of all exercises, Drills & Techniques for Catchers is especially recommended for baseball coaches, and also aspiring and practicing catchers interested in learning a few new tricks.

I found this author to give very few tips for the cost of his book or DVD. His instructiuon are confusing.

The brilliance of this catching DVD is that after viewing the drills,
you will be inspired to create new ones. Not as easy as it sounds
but it can be done. Like a Johnny Bench throw to 2nd base, the content
goes at a very rapid pace. My own catcher is 10 years old but this program
seems appropriate for up to 16 years old where "framing" comes into play.
If your son stays with catching this is an excellent resource to
keep referring to as he matures. And remember, the catching equipment
you get is extremely important. Get your own so other players on the team will not be adjusting
it all and waste your time.

There is no shortage here of tips,techniques and drills
for young players who want to play catcher.
DRILLS & TECHNIQUES FOR CATCHERS has a good
grasp of baseball's toughest position!

What I like about DRILLS & TECHNIQUES FOR CATCHERS is the way it flows
combining fundamentals, tips and drills. An excellent program for
catchers new to the position as well as pertinent tips for those who have played catcher for years.
The drills range from very basic to more complex. Highly recommended for catching prospects 8-16.

with useful drills. Youth players who want to
be behind the plate, will love this.

come at you in rapid speed with valid explanations
that are bound to help any catcher with a desire

Typically in Little League baseball catchers are somehow
drawn to that position. And from what I've seen those
that are catchers at 12 who continue to play, most remain
there. DRILLS & TECHNIQUES FOR CATCHERS will give young players
an excellent introduction to the toughest position to
master on the baseball playing field. Once the basics are
addressed (ie. stance, positioning etc), the drills reinforce
it all. Interestingly, youth players will enjoy this but those players
continuing at the position numbered "2" can refer to this program through
their school baseball days.
This DVD is as good as holding on to a tipped third strike!
