Hype is a funny thing. Sometimes one gets caught up in it, sometimes it turns you off. It generally turns me off, but in the case of the author's supposed track record with sports instructional videos/DVD's, I got caught up in it. I had heard endless acculades about his "59 Minute Baseball Practice". I bought it and I was happy with that title. I then purchaesed "Winning Baseball Strategies". This is what I would call a continuation of the "59 Minute Baseball Practice" with more of an emphasis on strategic situations that occur in the course of a Little League game for 10, 11, & 12 year olds. The strategies work very well as long as you have the horses to perform them. Even if you don't, the concepts will give your team a better understanding of the game. There are intricate strategies as well as some very logical "quick tips". I am looking forward to the playoffs and hope my fellow coaches don't know about this product. If you eat and breath baseball during Little League season, this is a must have.

Combining fun with some "out of the box" strategies, this DVD rocks. Quick tips and advanced skill strategies for your team to excel make this worthwhile. Delayed steals, back ups, bunt techniques and more will help your team squeeze out a couple of extra wins during the year and keep the complainers from calling your house at all hours of the night. All Star coaches can use many things in this program.

Very solid youth baseball strategies. "Winning Baseball Strategies" is the standard for youth baseball coaches and parents of players 8-12 years old. This DVD goes into the different coaching techniques used ie. "1st and 3rd offensive and defensive situations", "the delayed steal", "backing up and more". The author makes it perfectly clear that no team will be able to perfect all the strategies in this DVD. If you have the horses you should be able to use the majority of them. Another thing he emphsizes is that you must practice these strategies before using them in a game. There are added indiviual skill tips and just a bunch of good stuff. All Star coaches will get the most benefit from this. His other DVD "Backyard Baseball Drills" is another home run.

Try the delayed steal from first, a terrific suprise move. Or how
about the second baseman backing up the pitcher on a wild pitch with the bases loaded. Striving not only to win but to teach the game of baseball correctly, this video is the "mark of time".
Buy it and "they will come" to your games. Nice things are plentiful and the kids will enjoy it also. My son looks at this video over and over.

Without a doubt this video is the best baseball instructional video I have viewed. Got it from my local library then went right on the net and purchased it. This "baseball gem" gives basic constructive hints then the most skillful strategies that will only be used by some. The producer goes into detail about bunting, the delayed steal and even pick off plays. This at the youth baseball level (10-12 years old) is really incredible. I integrated some with my team and some worked and some did not. Don't fret, the video makes it clear which strategies will probably work with certain level of players ie. All Star Teams etc. The pace makes the viewing quite interesting and even some of the basic hints (move up in the box on slow pitching , and back on fast pitching) should be seen by younger players 8-10.
This is the perfect item for coaches who really want to stick to that other obnoxious coach who always wins and lives for winning
(doesn't every league have one of those). For playoffs and All Stars, this is great. Go for it!

When I first viewed this video, I asked myself: how can my team of 10,11 & 12 yer olds begin to grasp any of this stuff? Well we practiced alot of this stuff and the results were great! Not everything worked and some strategies should be left up to 12 year old All Star teams. Some basic common sense things are discussed such as where to stand in the batter's box depending on the pitcher's speed. The technical strategies will require some real good players. The delayed steal segment should be a must for all major league coaches who want to know the timing of this strategy. To get any team to do all that is in this video is impossible though the narrator addresses this and suggests to pick and chose the strategies depending on your team's skill level.The bunting and base running segments are my personal favorite. I highly recommend "Winning Baseball Strategies" for coaches who think they have any chance of going anywhere in their own regional playoffs. If you don't purchase this, the coach your are playing might have.

Very good theories! Hard to get young ball players to follow many of the things shown but am implementing presently and seeing some positive results. Usually on my youth teams, 1/2 the squad understands the game. This is a more valuable instrument for youth All Star teams where winning is the bottom line (though most leagues won't admit it!). Video is a good compliment to his "59 Minute Baseball Practice".

Experienced coaches will find this very useful. Tough strategies to grasp. Good explanations but I don't agree with all of what he preaches. Coaches looking to go to the next level should purchase.

This DVD has an interesting, informative approach all youth baseball coaches and baseball loving parents will love. This program has the answers to a lot of situations that come up over and over again. WINNING BASEBALL STRATEGIES was extremely helpful for our 10,11 & 12 year old team as we moved into the second half of our season and then the playoffs. Practicing what was in the video made us a better team.

If you are a youth baseball coach or parent and are looking for some interesting tips and theories that might get you to the next round in your league's playoff or All Stars, WINNING BASEBALL STRATEGIES is a good value. I initiated many of the 1st & 3rd offensive and defensive options and they do work. YOU MUST have some talent on your team or you'll get frustrated with your kids with much of what is in the DVD. All in all this program and Marty Schupak's other programs are well worth it. We definitely improved over the course of two seasons taking his drills and tips that we thought appropriate for our team.
