From the Back Cover

The Baseball Classic

"Great fun and full of vital information."--Washington Times

Baseball for Everyone has much to recommend it to every baseball-minded reader."--New York Times

Joe DiMaggio was arguably the greatest hitter of all time--his 56-game hitting streak, set in 1941, still stands. He was also one of the best centerfielders in baseball history, leading the Yankees to ten World Series titles. No one knew baseball better than Joltin' Joe, and Baseball for Everyone, published at the height of his career in 1948, is a tour of the game with DiMaggio as guide. His timeless observations on pitching, hitting, and the finer points of positional play are made bigger than life with stories of the play and tactics of Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Pee Wee Reese, and others.

With the reissue of this best-selling classic, a new generation can learn from the best, while those who remember the Yankee Clipper can revisit wonderful memories. Baseball for Everyone is for all who love the game and savor the legends surrounding it.

"Simple but thorough, the book lays out the fundamentals of the game, position by position."--Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

"An excellent primer for the learning player and an engaging book for the seasoned fan."--Steve Lombardi, NetShrine
