Editorial Reviews

Review

The book is fantastic. It, essentially, was all I used at my roto draft this year. -- Rob Neyer, ESPN.com

The most logical projections you will find. An invaluable tool, whether you're a sabermetrician or a first-year fantasy leaguer. -- John Hunt, Baseball Weekly

About the Author

Ron Shandler was the first author to take the concepts of leading sabermetricians and develop applications for fantasy league play. A fantasy leaguer since 1985 and a simulation gamer since 1971, he is one of the founding participants in the national experts competitions LABR and Tout Wars. His methods won him dual AL and NL championships in Tout Wars 1998, and he followed up with a second place finish in Tout Wars-AL in 1999. Ron is also author of the Rotisserie Baseball Workbook and is the editor and publisher of the BaseballHQ.com web site. Ron holds an MBA from Hofstra University and is a forecasting analyst by trade. 5.0 out of 5 stars Talk about well-kept secrets!, January 6, 2000
This review is from: Baseball Forecaster 2000 Annual Review (Mass Market Paperback)
Man, oh man. Where has this book been all these years I've been playing - and losing - at fantasy baseball? I've never seen it in the bookstores but this has got to be the absolute best approach to winning your league. I've never looked at stats this way before, but it sure makes sense that we've been evaluating players all wrong. Shandler has won experts leagues with it and heck, if Rob Neyer and John Hunt use it, there's got to be something to it.

This book is a must-have for any fantasy baseball participant. It offers concise reviews and predictions on most major leaguers in a frank and humorous way. His statistical approach is unique and almost always on the mark.
