This was fun for me to read for a variety of reasons. First, I was acquainted with Dave Rosenfield for a few years during the 1980-90s when I worked in minor league baseball. Being in the same room with him during Triple A meetings, one had a sense that there was a whole lot going on in Dave's mind and that he had a lot of historical knowledge on absolutely any subject. Secondly, I have also met the author, John Traub, General Manager of the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple A affiliate of the LA Dodgers, so it was a treat to read a well-written book by John. Lastly, if you like baseball and/or just good stories from the past, this book will hold your attention. Dave Rosenfield led an incredibly interesting life and this book does a wonderful job bringing it all to the reader.

This is a great book whether you love baseball or not. It chronicles the life of a guy who follows his heart while standing on principle and making a lot of friends along the way. The book was written by a new writer who did a pretty good job at letting the reader see the insights of a very interesting character. Even though I don't follow baseball much, I learned a lot about the business side of it while reading this book and that made it all the more enjoyable.

I'd recommend the book for anyone who wants a fun and easy read.

Dave Rosenfield is BASEBALL and he is having 'One Helluva Life!" His stories are entertaining and heartfelt. He has experienced a lot in his lifetime and it's so interesting to learn about who he's met and where's he's been.
