From Library Journal
The proliferation of baseball miscellany continues with Sugar's latest entry, which is essentially two books in one. The first is a continuation in theme of his earlier book, The Greatest Baseball Trivia Book Ever (1989), offering fans a medley of offbeat data (e.g., grand slam home runs hit by teenagers, a chronology of Billy Martin's fights). The second part follows a more traditional approach, providing team-by-team individual hitting, pitching, and fielding records. Though conveniently arranged and accurate, much of this information can be found in other standard reference volumes, such as Joseph Reichler's Baseball Encyclopedia (Macmillan, 1985. 6th ed.). Altogether, the work serves at best as a complement to sports reference collections.
