5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for Baseball fans and non fans alike, May 16, 2000

I'm not a big baseball fan, but I found this book to be great fun anyway. Check out hte chapter on stupid things that players have said over the years--it will have you howling. Great fun for basbeall fans and trivia buffs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny and diverting -- but only if you're into baseball, April 20, 2011
This review is from: Baseball's Most Wanted(TM): The Top 10 Book of the National Pastime's Outrageous Offenders, Lucky Bounces, and Other Oddities (Paperback)
This isn't a book you take your time with -- it can be finished in a few hours and forgotten about not shortly after. The book is nothing more than a Top 10 list with a paragraph explaining each entry. The list covers trivia that goes from informative to hilarious to insightful to just strange -- subjects include Top 10 Politicians that played baseball, Top 10 Womenizers, Top 10 One Game Wonders, Top 10 Wild Pitchers, Top 10 Curses . . . . you get the idea. It's amusing enough and addictive. I'm surprised by how many friends have picked it up, read a few pages and then asked to borrow it. Although, I can't imagine you'd find it remotely interesting if you're not into baseball.

I ordered this as Christmas gift for my son. I have not read it, but think he will really like it. I got it because I saw a story about "Dummy Hoy" a great baseball of years ago, who once caught a ball off the back of a horse.
