Wonderful and Unique,

This review is from: The Bashful Vampire Murder & Comic Book Murders (Paperback)
This is my first vampire/homosexual detective mystery novel, and I'm hooked! It's original and engaging read with a plot that will keep you on your toes. It would be a great pick for sparking conversation at a book club, or just as an easy, fun page-turner to read on your own.

Great Read!,
This review is from: The Bashful Vampire Murder & Comic Book Murders (Paperback)
I am always a sucker for any vampire story, with that being said this book did not let me down. There are some funny parts as well serious. It was nice to have a book from the side of the vampire. The Comic Book murders did not disappoint either. Detective Frank Callahan does some wonderful detective work. I would definitely look forward to reading more about Detective Callahan's adventures.

It's A Fanger!!!,
This review is from: The Bashful Vampire Murder & Comic Book Murders (Frank Callahan Mysteries) (Kindle Edition)
After falling in love with True Blood, I've been more inclined to read more vampire stories and my good friend mentioned this to me and boy am I glad. The writing style was different to what I usually read but nonetheless was extremely well written. Once I was finished reading these books, I instantly became hooked to the Frank Callahan series. Once you start reading it, you too will be sucked in.

Nice Combo of Mysteries in One Book,

You get a double dose of Detective Frank Callahan in this book by Bob Frey. The first story - The Bashful Vampire Murder - was great because it had a twist to it. It wasn't the typical vampire/human love story, the vampire slayer got caught this time which was a nice surprise. The second story - The Comic Book Murders - found Callahan doing some pretty amazing detective work. Good enough work to make me want to read the other Detective Frank Callahan books.

Refreshingly Original Vampire Novel,

This review is from: The Bashful Vampire Murder & Comic Book Murders (Paperback)
I am a sucker for vampire novels due to the combined romance and suspense features that are in most of them. These stories are usually written in a serious tone and are easy to find no matter what bookstore you go to. However, "The Bashful Vampire Murder & Comic Book Murders'," by Bob Frey are refreshingly different in the fact they creatively and expertly intertwine a humorous tone in a book containing not so humorous topics such as mystery, blood, murder, etc. Definitely a great read and different from your everyday repetitive vampire story.

Good!,
This review is from: The Bashful Vampire Murder & Comic Book Murders (Paperback)
There are two stories :The Bashful Vampire Murder, the defense attempts to prove that vampires exist and suspends a case. It is upto the detective tos olve the case of the murder and we briefly view upon vampires and their life. Second is the Comic Book Murders, a hero and villain are both suspects in a crime and the police crackdown the cirmianl in this highly interesting story. Very good, you read two different stories in the same book, quite a good weekend read.

Loved it,
This review is from: The Bashful Vampire Murder & Comic Book Murders (Paperback)
The book is humorous and serious at the sametime. The writing style is good, I haven't read stories that are quite interesting in it's theme like this one. It's about the life of a vampire. I really didn't know there could ever be a view to their side but the author has demonstrated it in this book and it trully gets the reader invovled in it's story of murder, deceit, life and death. Good read.

Frey is a talented writer and this story is incredibly entertaining. The book shows a different perspective from what we have read before, from the vampires point of view. The difficulties they face, morbid humors and enough mystery to keep the suspense going until the very end. I highly recommend these stories, as the title says readers should be aware of the content as it is related to murder, death and blood.

Frey is a very talented writer and he really draws you into his stories. He exhibits a unique and deft ability for interweaving the comical with the gloomy. Frey gives his readers clever, entertaining and humorous novels. This novel really amused me and it really fits in mystery and its perfect reading for people who enjoy the real magic of the television show Castle. Frey's style is the perfect combination of murder investigation and strange murder stories. I like the way he wrote the story and makes people stick with it. I really recommend people to buy and read it. It is worth spending time and money.

A Fresh Angle!,

Frey's two-fer entertained me in the late-night hours where the mind enjoys something a little bizarre. You'll definitely get a twist on the usual detective theme and a modern twist with all the vampire rage, perversely justifying murder. It's food for thought; and a fun ride. The best part is, once "The Bashful Vampire Murder" has been savored, I still had another show to watch as the parade of comic book creatures led me through the next whodunit. Clue by clue I was entertained by the fresh take. It felt like dancing with all the allusions to pop culture and other works - loads of fun!
