A great Multivitamin, December 7, 2003

When I first started Atkins, I used a Centrum Daily Multivitamin. I have since learned the error of my ways and switched to Atkins' Basic 3. If you're doing Atkins or any low carb diet,this is the vitamin for you. Unlike many multivitamins, it contains no iron, which men especially, should not take. It also is low in calcium (which you get enough of with all the cheese you eat) and contains a decent amount of fiber. Taken with Atkins' Essential Oils and maybe a fiber supplement, Atkins' Basic 3 contains all you need for maintaining a healthy system on the Atkins Way of Life.

The essential multivitamin for the low carb dieter, November 23, 2003

This is a great, potent vitamin formula made especially for low-carb dieters. Even people not on a low carb diet would probably benefit immensely from taking a multivitamin supplement. How many of us can honestly say we get even our bare minimum RDAs of vitamins and minerals (do you really eat 5 full servings of vegetables and fruits?)? You will get more than your RDA of all the basics: in addition, there are herbal extracts and other beneficial things that have been shown to have a stabilizing effect on blood sugar and appetite. Some nutrients have also been added to specifically target metabolism. Naturally, this is all packaged in a yeast-free, gluten-free, sugar free tablet (which helps those of us who can get nauseous taking vitamins).
I have been taking the Basic #3 vitamins since I started the Atkins diet several months ago, one with each meal. I have noticed that not only has the diet worked to help me lose weight, but also I am generally better nourished thanks in part to this supplement formula. I made a mistake early on and tried to start the first week of the weight loss diet without any vitamins - BIG MISTAKE! After day 5 I was tired and emotionally drained. I was on the verge of quitting. The next day I started taking the vitamins; I not only bounced back to normal, I felt more healthy and energetic than I had in years. My attitude turned around 100 percent and I was able to do the diet from that point on with no cravings and no depression. Good nutrition really does affect your physical and mental health. Trust me, you need these.
