In order to use this book effectively you must have a sextant. I was disappointed when I read the first chapter, which I found to be easy to read and very clearly and simply stated, when I turned to chapter two only to find that it was a technical guide to adjusting your sextant. This is a practical work and you can only use this book effectively with a sextant in your hand. But that in itself is no bad thing...if you have a sextant.
