rhythm sticks,
This review is from: Basic Beat Pair of 8" Combination Rhythm Sticks
Basic Beat combination rhythm sticks are great! One is serated and makes a washboard sound when rubbed. I like the ability to have variety in the sounds with such a small, light weight, easy to carry around instrument! Great for children or adults, rhythm beginners or experts. Lots of fun to play and the smooth wood feels great in my hands.

I purchased these for use with our children's choir at church (K-3rd grade). We use these to study rhythm as part of the music education portion of choir. The kids love them and they are perfect for little hands. These are shorter than standard rhythm sticks, but if you're using them for little kids, they are just right. The kids love using them - it makes learning note values and tapping out rhythms a lot more fun and interesting for them.

We purchased several sets for a Summer Sunday School program with an emphasis on music. Kids are ages 2-12. Rhythm sticks are nicely made and just what we needed for hammering the ark, making "frog" and "cricket" sounds, etc.

As a former long time drummer I introduced my son to these for christmas. he loved them. The sticks are about a 5B thickness with no tip, and about half the lenght of a normal stick. The perfect intro for a new little drummer boy.

My oldest daughter uses these in her music class and loves them. I ordered two pairs (one for each daughter) and they both love them. Good for teaching rhythm, for making different sounds, and learning motor skills and body-mind connection. Of course they also use them occasionally to hit one another but that's just kid-nature. Highly recommend them. They'll probably last longer than most of their other toys.

I've had this product for a few weeks, and it's awesome. If you have an active baby who likes to make noise and put things in her mouth, this is great.

I got these directly from West Music with some other items cause they were only a buck and a half. My 8 month old LOVES these. He bangs them, rubs them and carries them around. Not sure why he likes sticks so much, but there you go. I like that they are 2" in diameter with rounded ends so he can't do much harm playing with them (always supervised closely). I don't like it when he tries to gnaw on them and usually just try to give him something safer to chew as the finish on them doesn't smell like something that should be in a baby's mouth. He has thunked himself in the head once or twice, but didn't seem overly upset and I suppose a certain amount of that is to be expected as babies explore their world.

The very low price on these is very attractive as well as the fact that one can make different sounds and not just the "clap." But they are small and perhaps best for children. I never use them and quickly went to the Toca Pro wood claves, which are awesome and give a much louder sound, using the palm as an (optional) sound chamber.Toca Pro Wood Claves (Standard) I was actually looking for something close to Aboriginal clapsticks. I learned that the vast majority of those that are on the market are too small and high pitched to compare, but the deep and full sound of the Toca Claves does the job just fine.

I like the varying tones of these very well--high quality wood and finish--resulting in great feel. Extraordinary value and multi-purpose. They make my RT Jam Block really come alive! Thanks, Amazon and West Music!
