my daughter is a music therapist and uses these in her therapy sessions, they work great

My husband and I bought these, along with two Basic Beat Egg Shakers, after seeing an outrageously priced instrument set at a baby-box-store. Our daughter is only 9 months old, but we're wanting to build a nice collection up for her before she gets too old. We didn't expect her to catch on to these so quickly, but she absolutely loves them. This pair is a great price, and the instruments are of a wonderful, sturdy quality. We've banged these on things, dropped things on them, thrown them, chewed on them (her, not us!), etc., and they still look brand new -- not even the letters are coming off. We'll be buying another set (or two) of both these and the Egg Shakers, and will likely use Basic Beat instruments to complete her whole hand instrument set. I highly recommend these!

I bought two different maracas because I wasn't sure what size to buy. They had some at the library for infant time and my daughter loved them. These are the perfect size for a young baby to hold and shake. My daughter has just turned 6 months old (we've had these for a couple months) and this has become a favorite toy.

Got these for my twins when they were 6 months now at 15 months they still play with them daily. Great for keeping them entertained in the car or waiting office. They just love to walk around with these shaking, banging or tapping them on other objects! Get a couple because they seem to get lost sometimes under the crib or couches! I bought extra for my friend's kids and they loved them too!

I got these for my 9 month old son who just celebrated his first birthday and these are still some of his favorite go-to toys. He got a bunch of music making (e.g. egg shakers, drums, tambourine)toys as gifts for his birthday and while he absolutely loves them all, he still goes back to his Chiquitas. They are the perfect size for a baby's tiny hands and they are not overly loud, so they work even when you're out and about. I love how they encourage my son's creativity.

My 9 month old loves these shakers. They're small enough for him to hold but make a great noise that he enjoys!

I bought these as party favors for my daughter's first birthday, and they were a huge hit! Good quality, colorful, and fun.

These little maracas are cute and colorful and my son likes them, but he puts the handle end in his mouth and I realized they are a potential hazard b/c the end of the handle can jab him in the throat. I put them away for now, until he gets old enough to play with them as musical instruments and doesn't try to eat them.

The photo for this item shows 5 mini maracas; Be aware you are only buying 2 maracas. I think this photo is misleading. It's not like they are not showing you these to help you select the color; they simply ship whatever color they choose.
