for people like me who have short term memory, it's great to be able to remember biochemistry in 10 min.

Great help for those of us who aren't scientists by nature. If you're struggling with your textbook I recommend this as a good supplement - especially right before exam time! Not detailed enough to skip class though, but worth the time and money.

This little book is excellent for grasping the essential concepts of what, otherwise, can be a daunting subject for many. It is worth reading this book before reading the more advanced texts. The latter would be used for hanging ornamental details on the conceptual tree developed by first reading this book.

I was amazed at the price for this paperback. It is interesting in content and a pleasant surprise is the inclusion of thermodynamics/kinetics of enzyme substrate interactions. A nice review for anyone who learned the material once and needs a quick reference but not enough detail for a college exam.
Amusingly, I found this book in the JUNIOR section of my public library and the circulation specialist told me it was justified because junior includes up to eighteen years old. I'm still laughing because Biochemistry is an advanced undergraduate course, and the organic chemistry prerequisites for university level is appropriate. The book is useful, but overpriced for a small paperback. It should be no more than $20 new.

I did not find this book very helpful at all, and I actually found reading a longer text, such as Voet et al., less time consuming.
