5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Up-to-date Conducting Textbook, August 28, 2000
Labutta's conducting textbook is the most up-to-date, now in its 4th edition (1999). I highly recomend this book because of the conciseness of the text (it's to the point), the relevancy of the information, and above all, because of the wealth of musical examples to be used in the development of conducting skills. The conciseness of the text encourages students to read it, and at the same time, provides students with all the information needed for the development of the specific skill being discussed. The abundance of musical examples makes this textbook a valuable single-volume reference material to be used by any beginning conducting class.
