Good book, to the point.,

This review is from: Basic Electronics (Paperback)
A good book for beginners, and to the point. The title says it all "Basic Electronics", and will give anyone new a good foundation about things from what it is, how it works, from the very electrons and atoms to circuits and basic theory.

I found the first chapter in this book a bit tough to read. It can be very technical but it does let up after chapter one. For basic understanding it is a good idea to read the math explanations but no need to memorize it to understand the rest of the book. The following chapters unfold in a very easy to follow manner and you will have a good understanding of the basic components that make up electronic devices.
Worth the money!

Great book when just starting in Electrical Engineering. It has more detail that is easier to understand then most textbooks you will get in your first year or two of Electrical Engineering.

This book was exactly what my son needed and was in good shape. It also saved me alot of money buying from amazon.com rather than purchasing it through the college bookstore.

Only chapter 2&3 are worth reading. chapter one is ok if you remember no HS chemistry or physics. Chapter 4 on diodes and transistors starts well but leaves you a bit confused in the end.
Chapter 5 is bad because of the missing information in chapter 4. The rest of the book is a waste. Still looking for a book on electronics that will let me have a clue as to how circuits are designed.

Just another classroom "textbook"!,
By NY Consumer (New York, ny) - See all my reviews

Unfortunately, I listened to the reviews on this book, and purchased it in the hopes that this was not another "dry and compacted" classroom-type, made-for-geeks-only textbook, and guess what...it is~!
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK, if you want basic electricity theories explained in layman's language (i.e; "easy-to-understand")---the information is crammed into 1 page, just like a book brought in a College bookstore!! You have been warned.... |
