6 of 6 people found the following review helpful By A.Reader1 on May 15, 2007
Format: Paperback
These books are totally awesome just like the companion series, Basic Electricity. The books explain everything nice and easy starting with diodes, rectifiers and power supplies in Volume 1. Then in Volume 2 we get all the fundamentals of vacuum tubes and their use in amplifiers. Volume 6 covers the basics of solid state i.e. BJ transistors. Other volumes cover oscillators, AM, FM, antennas, transmitters, receivers.

Most impressive in the Van Valkenburgh books are the diagrams. very well done.
