From the Back Cover

This book is intended as a problem-based tool and self-assessment guide for medical students, residents, and others wishing for a review of clinical endocrinology. Basic Endocrinology: An Interactive Approach will provide a solid foundation of clinical endocrinology; it can be used as a concise core textbook, or as a supplemental self-test and review. The author has succeeded in providing the right level of information without overloading the reader with details and at the same time without being too simplistic.

  • Designed in a "frequently asked question" (FAQ) format to aid the reader in assimilating the material.
  • Designed as a problem-based interactive text, asking the student "Why?" rather than just restarting material from lectures.
  • Approximately one-third of the book consists of review questions, to help the reader retain material and to prepare for standardized examinations.
  • Pertinent diagrams and relevant clinical photographs accompany all questions.

All clinical questions are derived from actual patient cases.
