Practical Self-Help Approach Beautifully Presented,
By John Kensington (Orlando, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
I was impressed both with the way the author presented home colon cleansing enema techniques in a very clear photographic step-by-step approach using a nonoffensive and even beautiful presentation--which itself should win a medical photography award--and with the author's emphasis on relaxation techniques and overcoming hesitations in regards to this intimate cleansing process. As one who had unhappy experiences with enemas during childhood, this CD-ROM motivated me to change my attitudes and try the gentle, relaxing approaches she recommends. After some practice taking enemas using her techniques, I can see why her approach works and I experienced the benefits first-hand of cleasing the colon, a huge internal organ that is obviously deserving of what the author calls "a gentle bath" on a regular basis. Enemas are not yet in the mainstream of personal health maintenance but they certainly are now for me thanks to this author's approach.

A Superb Treatment of a Very Private Subject,
By A Customer
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
Edith Webber has produced a most tasteful and thorough treatment of the most delicate subject of Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing. I have never come across such a helpful introduction to this sensitive matter, and I commend her and the persons who agreed to being photographed very highly indeed. She very thoughtfully deals with most people's feelings of dread and horror of having to take an enema, and most convincingly tells her readers that giving oneself one, or being given one, need not be an unpleasant experience at all, and that it will be most helpful to one's health. I highly recommend this excellent, fully and yet tastefully illustrated instructional CD to all men and women.

Great Information on a Difficult to Discuss Topic,
By Jobeam (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
Ms. Webber does a wonderful job of bringing a topic to the light that many find difficult to discuss. She talks about how some shy away from colon cleansing (enemas) due to unfortunate experiences as a child or from an uncaring medical professional. The enema does not have to be a painful procedure and can be very beneficial in a healthy lifestyle. Brave individuals allow themselves to be photographed to allow for clear and easy to follow instructions. The CD is very informative and I highly recommend it for anyone slightly interested in improving their colon health.

A well done practical book about a delicate subject,
By Marlene & Marvin McQuaid (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
My husband and I have practiced colon health for many years and fully believe that it has led to our better general health and well being. I saw Edith Webbers book listed and decided to see what she was offering and I must say that she has handled, what to some is the taboo subject of enemas in a manner that is dignified, professional and non threatening. Her use of models to show the practical aspects of enema administration is to the best of my knowledge a first outside of collegiate texts and has been done in a tasteful dignified manner. Her knowledge and the breadth of the subject leaves the reader with a clear understanding of the process fully explaining the need for good colon health and guiding the novice and experienced alike through proper, safe enema administration outlining what may be effectively taken in regard to mixtures and quantity, safe procedures and identifying readily available sources of equipment that can be used and the proper care of equipment to assure healthful sanitary practices. By following her recommended procedures an enema need not be threatening, embarrassing nor uncomfortable. Well done Edith even with our experience my husband and I learned some new things; bless you for your fine work.

Courageously Breaks Ground on Sensitive Subject!,
By Pam Clarkson "Pam" (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
I believe the author is a home health nurse and, as a fellow nurse, I compliment her for forthrightly and nonoffensively bringing the 'E' word (enemas) into the open in a fashion that people will understand. She espouses gentle but thorough enemas for colon cleansing, stressing relaxation techniques, and she takes the time to remove many misperceptions and fears, as well as to explain the underlying benefits. Dozens of step-by-step photos are quite clearly but tastefully presented, and the male and female subjects are to be complimented for their willingness to tastefully show the human body during this process of learning to, as the author puts it, 'give the colon a bath.' This wonderful and incredibly thorough presentation removes the mystery and fear from colon cleansing through gentle enemas in the home. I, for one, believe that all of our colons as well as our general health would be better off if we learned to accept and regularly practice colon cleansing.

Overcame My Ignorance and Trepidation About Cleansing Enemas,
By "susanpinny" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
I agree with many of the other reviewers who state that this is intelligently and tastefully presented, amazingly so given the intimate nature of the procedures. The photos are so well done that after the first few pages one forgets that one is looking at the human body and, instead, properly concentrates on the excellent content. The author clearly has experience about and sensitivity for people's natural hesitations, fears, past childhood experiences and just plain ignorance, and she gently but persistently opens the reader's mind not only to the importance of this simple cleansing procedure but to the proper, gentle, relaxing ways to accomplish it as well as the rationale for colon cleansing given our modern lifestyles and diets. This beautiful presentation breaks a lot of ground and, in time, is destined to be a classic in the field of colon health.

A Breath of Fresh Air About Colon Health,
By Cynthia "cynthia333" (Denver, CO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
A sometimes embarrassing subject--cleansing the colon through enemas taken in the home--is treated beautifully and directly, also quite completely, with courage and openness (and I add my admiration to the participant patients for their willingness to be photographed in this intimate procedure...my compliments also about the way the photos were so well done). The author notes up front that this subject is difficult to take on, how 'hung up' many people are about even talking about enemas, let alone taking them. She acknowledges that many people have fears from childhood enemas and from societal misconceptions, and yet she very wisely knows that enemas can be gentle but thorough, do not need to be stressful, and can be a rejuvenation for the colon, a huge, major organ too often ignored. I admit to being someone who has been a big believer in colon cleansing without drugs, stimulants or other concoctions--a believer in simple, gentle enemas--and I now know that I'm not alone in embracing the benefits of this kind of colon cleansing. There is an enormous amount of information showing the variety of colon cleansings, equipment, techniques and procedures. Experienced though I am, I learned a great deal from what must have been an enormous effort to put all of this together, especially the hundreds of photos which, in themselves, could not have been done better given the subject matter.

Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illlustrated Guide,
By Normane Cobbleson (Mount Dora area of Florida, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
I agree with every word the reviewers ahead of me have said about this CD Guide. In my lay, but experienced opinion, it covers well the fundamentals regarding in-home enema therapy and professional colonic irrigation. This CD is indeed a users manual for colon cleansing. It is written in clear and simple english that greatly informs the person new to this therapy. It helps them to make an informed decision regarding their own health path. It points out how the colon therapist health care professional can assist in colon care decisions. It also provides information for those who are advanced in the therapy. I have decades of experience and research on the subject, but found myself learning more. Even though I feel I have written creditably on the subject in fiction form, I could only dream of presenting such a fine manual. Also, the illustrations are truly informative and clear, yet tasteful. You walk away after viewing this CD again wondering why colon cleansing is not part of more peoples lives. It depicts and confirms decades of my positve experiences with in-home enema therapy and colonic irrigations. It certainly brings a clean heart and soul to the subject matter. I just want to thank all of those who were involved in this important project. It is obviously a work of the heart!

Effectively Takes On Needed Discussion Of Embarrassing Subject,
By Lillian (Las Vegas, NV) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Basic In-Home Colon Cleansing: An Illustrated Guide (CD-ROM)
This CD-ROM presents a very comprehensive discussion in an Adobe reader format of detailed slides with text. The Adobe pdf format reader is free and most easy to use. I found this to be a most serious, very helpful work that taught me a great deal step-by-step for my own colon care program. In this presentation containing numerous chapters and hundreds of photos (most slides with multiple photos), the author balances the delicate need to be explicit about the subject matter and the related photos with beautifully framed presentations avoiding sexual and erotic overtones but, rather, focusing on her obvious expertise in repect to the healthful benefits of colon cleansing through enemas taken and/or administered in the privacy and relaxation of one's home. In the times we live in with our rushed lives and often poor diets, colon cleansing is becoming important, and this work is both stunningly clear and highly informative, leading the reader to overcome trepidations and begin to think of 'giving the colon a bath' in a serious yet gentle context. More people should have the courage of this author to forthrightly take on this subject. The only suggestion I have is that the publisher eventually do a print version.
