This is a remarkable introduction to the complex world of otorhinolaryngology, in full color!

This beautifully conceived book makes learning ENT almost simple, with its excellent drawings and photographs of the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of this region. Throughout the book connections are made to internal medicine, pediatrics, and surgery. A highly structured text, using boxed information and tables, provides a quick overview of the subject.

This is a highly effective introduction to ENT for senior medical students and interns.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"This excellent book does seem to edge closer than most to [the] Holy Grail; it makes use of fantastic illustrations, clarifying via simple diagrams many concepts.. Operative, embryological and anatomical diagrams, explanatory line diagrams beside scans, and pictorial representations of investigation results are all used to great effect, combining both clarity and relevance. This is a textbook that all students and trainees will find useful, that senior house officers and more junior registrars will appreciate for the pure knowledge, and that all those with exams, at all levels, will find an excellent aid to help structure their answers. ..It would provide an excellent resource for all ENT surgeons in helping to further structure topics for teaching sessions."--Journal of Laryngology & Otology

"This well-written and concise textbook provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of basic otolaryngology and head and neck surgery and includes the latest developments to date. This textbook is nicely organized into 4 main chapters based on anatomical location. Unique features of this book are the convenient brief study units which are embedded within each sub-chapter. ...Each study unit is presented in a clear and concise manner richly illustrated with high-resolution color images, detailed drawings, tables, graphs, and flow charts. Additionally, there is attention to symbols to represent points of emphasis and boxed texts to provide information that goes beyond basic understanding, including operating techniques, case study reports, and historical information. ...The form and content of the book place it in the category of an excellent textbook for medical students and beginning residents. [The authors] offer a highly effective, affordably priced introductory textbook of otolaryngology for aspiring medical students and residents."--The Laryngoscope

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Introductory Text, May 3, 2010

This review is from: Basic Otorhinolaryngology: A Step-by-Step Learning Guide (Paperback)
I purchased this text for a physician assistant who was new to Otolaryngology. This is a well designed introduction to the practice of Otolaryngology. I would recommend this to anyone do to the field. The organization and visual designed is quite effective. This took will need to be supplemented by other more comprehensive text. A great place to start.
