This review is from: Basic Questions on End of Life Decisions: How Do We Know What's Right? (BioBasics Series) (Paperback)
A very thoughtful expose of a subject that will concern us all at some time. Don't put off reading this little gem. It's a collective from medical, practical, and spiritual perspectives - well balanced and thoughtful. It helps clarify questions like: If I remove a loved one's life support am I responsible for their death? Is termination of life support the same as assisting euthanasia? It covers the various types of end of life care and the aggressiveness with which treatments should be pursued. It handles the whole topic very sensitively - but with great clarity. It even covers the subject of praying for healing in terminal situations, and what happens if a person isn't healed.I venture to suggest that this book removes most of the mystery surrounding dying and would be a great help to both those who find themselves in extremis and to their loved ones. Definitely the most concise and helpful book I've ever read on the subject!

This book is for (a) us elderly people who ought to be thinking through how we want to be treated when we become ill, and (b)those who must care for the ill elderly. It is written from a Christian perspective, but can also be used by those who are yet to find hope in the Gospel.
