Gary D. Pratico (ThD, Harvard Divinity School) is professor of Old Testament and director of the Hebrew language program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has been teaching Hebrew for nearly thirty years. He is coauthor with Miles Van Pelt of Basics of Biblical Hebrew (grammar and workbook) and The Vocabulary Guide to Biblical Hebrew.
Miles Van Pelt (PhD, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is the Alan Belcher Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, where he also serves as the Director of the Summer Institute for Biblical Languages and Academic Dean. Miles has been studying and teaching biblical languages for over 20 years and he currently lives in Madison, Mississippi, with his wife Laurie and their four children.

Learn how to speak Hebrew like an American (not an Israeli),

The concept in this cd is great. The price is fair. The technical features on the cd are very easy to use and to play back. I installed it on my laptop in a few minutes and played it back on Windows Media player immediately. The tracks are labeled correctly. Everything seems fine.
Then I played it for my Hebrew instructor. He started laughing. The pronunciation is not at all like modern Hebrew. So, if you are like me and you want to learn Hebrew in order to read the bible, but you also might want to be able to say something to Israeli's if you ever go there on a trip, then by all means DON'T use this product. It will drill into your head the wrong way to speak Hebrew. However, if you don't plan to go to Israel and do plan to use your biblical Hebrew in a context where the older American style Seminary pronunciations are in play, then this is the perfect tool. Unfortunately, those pronunciations are falling out of favor more and more. So, if you are like me, then this product is not something to spend time and money on at all, even though it is well packaged and priced fairly. I think products that feature audio recordings of a language ought to use a native speaker of that language. Shame on Zondervan for failing to recognize this and provide us with a native speaker, and for not labeling this product with some sort of declaration that it uses a method of speech that most Israeli's think sounds funny to their ears. I'm sorry I cannot recommend this product. Someone ought to come out with an audio recording of a real Israeli speaking all the words correctly.

I downloaded the CD onto my PC, and tried to listen to it, but the only thing I got was the Intro. I will listen to it on my bedside cd player, and hopefully will be able to hear it.

After listening to many of "The A.D. Chronicles" I thought it would be interesting to learn about the Hebrew Language and it's use in the Bible. After perusing the first of many books and workbooks, I discovered that learning Hebrew should start at the ripe ole age of 3 or 4 ... not for one in their early 60's!!! For those
who are accustomed to learning languages it may be just a snap, but not for me! The books & charts are wonderful, provided you can make heads or tails of it !!!! Well, at least I know! Judy in Michigan
