This review is from: The Basics of Cross-Functional Teams (Paperback)
The "basics of cross-functional teams" is a very small book which introduces the concept of cross-functional teams. However the introduction is very narrow and it seems to mainly focus on cross-functional teams which are involved in quality improvement and certification projects like ISO9001.The book feels fairly traditional-management oriented and it doesn't discuss very much about the changes in culture, the changes in organization and how a cross-functional team would work themselves. It doesn't provide any references, stories or research on cross-functional teams. The book just provides a very short overview of project/team work and touches on some important points like values, mission, conflict etc; but then doesn't dive in it very deep. I would not recommend this book. |
