5.0 out of 5 stars A quick and easy guide to the basic rules of play, March 3, 2008
This review is from: The Basics of Winning Poker: 5th Edition (The Basics of Winning) (Paperback)
Avery Cardoza is one of the best poker players to every game along the Vegas Strip. He is also the publisher of one of the most impressive and 'user friendly' series of instructional books readily available to aspiring poker players. Beginning with "The Basics Of Winning Poker" readers will be able to quickly and competently acquire a basic knowledge of playing all the primary variations of the world's most popular card game including Hold'em, 7-Card Stud, Draw Poker, Omaha, and more. Readers are also instructed in the basics concerning cash games, tournaments, and online poker strategies, including betting, payoffs, and winning play strategies. Offering a quick and easy guide to the basic rules of play, "The Basics Of Winning Poker" also covers home games, cardroom play, and casino games. Of special note is what Cardoza has to advice novice poker players about money management strategies. Enhanced with illustrations and examples, as well as a Poker Glossary, "The Basics Of Winning Poker" provides virtually all of the information anyone would need to sit down at a game and have a great (and profitable) time. Also very highly recommended is Avery Cardoza's companion titles "The Basics Of Winning Hold'em Poker" (1580421644, $4.95) which specifically focuses on Limit and No Limit play for the most popular version of the game seen on television and played at such world class tournament events.
