This collection is a small jem in my recipe book collection. It's beautifully illustrated, the recipes are creative, delicious, and uncomplicated. One of the few books that has appealing recipes for the many varieties of basil that you can find at a farmers market or grow simply. Makes a perfect gift for a gardener friend combined with a few varieties of basil seeds.

This little hardback book, Basil, is wonderful this time of year when the basil in the garden is so plentiful. We especially like the recipes for desserts using basil in ways you wouldn't imagine. I just prepared the poached peaches with basil creme fraiche, and it was a hit for lunch today. Cool, refreshing and delicious.
