Normally I don't stray from my long time standby St. Ives facial cleanser, but I fear it's being discontinued so I am testing other products to see if I can find something else just in case.

I am impressed with Basis, it is similar to what I have been using in many ways. It is a light cleanser, but foams up nicely, you don't need to use a lot, the dime size recommendation is a good one. My face felt really nice and clean afterwards. I follow it up with my trusty moisturizer and I have nice smooth cheeks.

Overall, I give this 4 and a half stars. 6 oz. isn't a bad size but I am used to getting 10 oz, plus I wish it was in a pump bottle. Oh well. Another drawback is that Basis isn't easy to find. I have seen it at Ulta and Walmart, not sure anywhere else though. Hopefully this isn't another product that I will like that gets the ax!

My only complaint with this product is that it has made my face dryer than usual. I actually have sensitive skin that is also combination oily But...it has dried my face out in certain areas and it kinda makes my complection dull. The product does a great job keeping me from major breakouts but I still have to slather my face in moisturizer and due to having oily skin..I am not used to doing too often! But still 4 Stars!

I've battled with the occasional zit for years now. You know what I'm talking about- it's the red spot that appears on your face before an important meeting. Many times I found myself at the drug store, pondering the fate of my face for the next month as I used another bottle of experiement face wash. I originally bought Basis face wash because I liked the light fragrance. It has a medium foaming action (so you don't feel like you're inhaling it before you can wash it off) and it seems to clean my skin very well because when I use it regularly I don't have any acne problems. It also moisturizes/ or leaves enough of your natural oils that my skin still feels supple and not crispy like some face cleaners will do.

By far, this is my favorite face wash- a couple months ago I feared it was out of production because my drug store stopped carrying it. However, my web-intrepid, ever-sweet husband found it and ordered me 3 bottles as a surprise. If you're debating if you should order it online cause you don't get to smell it, err on the side of buying this, I highly reccomend it.

In 2000 my brother and I were on the onset of puberty induced acne and this product was recommended to him by our doctor. I've never used anything else since.

As opposed to the bar, the gel allows it to better clean all the crevices and pores on your face to wash out any dirt or grease. It is a fantastic cleanser that never irritates or dries out my skin, yet is the most effective tool for getting rid of make-up, grease, and dirt.

It's brightest moment in our long history together was in high school when I would use it to completely remove costume make-up and various paints worn to sporting events from my face in ONE wash, as opposed to multiple washings with soap and water and then vaseline to remove it all.

I've spent an obscene amount of money on facial products in an attempt to help my combination skin calm itself. Basis cleaner clean is light, it smells good, and it actually feels nice when you are applying it. It gets the job done for me, and I can use it multiple times a day, unlike many products because they end up drying out your skin.

I always use a moisturizer afterward, personally, I like cocoa butter.

If you want a good daily facial wash, I would most definitely recommend this product. I have not tried their other items though. The only issue is I always have to order this online. I have yet to see it in a store. eBay does not have bad prices, but shipping usually makes it about the same.

P.S. the healthy skin rejuvenator by neutrogena works well for cleansing too, but you can't (or at least shouldn't) use it everyday.

I think most people would be pleased with this item. I hope you like it :)

I have sworn by Basis Cleaner Clean for at least ten years, and have converted many friends over that time. I have extremely sensitive combination skin that will break out in hives, acne, and god knows what else at the drop of a pin. I've tried probably a hundred products, from drugstore to high-end, and I always come back to this one. It doesn't leave me feeling dry or greasy, the scent is fresh, and the lather is nice. Right now, I use Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash, 16 Ounces in the shower in the morning and Basis in the sink at night.

Basis Cleaner Clean Face wash has been my preferred face wash for years. It may be difficult to find elsewhere, but Amazon has it. It cleans without leaving the skin too dry or too oily and has a subtle, but manly citrus-like fragrance.

I have been using Basis for years, switched to the liquid when I couldn't find the bar in the store anymore. Now I can't find the liquid so I always buy in bulk. I fear this one won't be available for long, then what??!!! Love this soap, keeps face clean and oil free, washes off great.

I have been a user of this product for years!!!!! I keep several on hand so I don't run out. It leaves my face feeling clean without any of the "tightness" that so many leave. AND, it is hypoallergenic.

Because i have a mixed skin It took me a long time to find a product that wouldn't dry out my forhead and would prevent out breaks and oil excess on my cheeks, chin and nose.this is the only one that did it, i just use it twice a day with a moisturizer and it works wonderfull.
